It was a sold-out crowd once again on March 8, when the Ford's Colony Theatre Club presented the delightful Williamsburg A Cappella Singers. Directed by Patty Leveille, this gem of a choral ensemble wowed the audience. Their intricate blending of vocal sounds and whimsical moves fed my soul!
The songs featured a variety of musical styles including pop, barbershop, showtunes and jazz standards. Tying this eclectic mix together was a theme of love. The result was playful, reverent, and so catchy that when cake was served at intermission, some members of the audience were heard asking for “a cuppa cuppa cuppa cuppa cup!” (A line from “The Java Jive.”)
The Williamsburg A Cappella Singers perform at various venues throughout the community. If you have not had a chance to hear them yet, be sure to check out one of their upcoming shows.

We were honored to participate in Williamsburg Memorial Park's Memorial Day Celebration Though it was the park's 60th annual celebration, the Williamsburg A cappella Singers have been performing as part of this ceremony since 2019 (with the exception of the COVID years).
They said Rain or Shine and they meant it. We had downpours off and on during this celebration. Thank you to Master of Ceremonies, Mark Maggio, Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army (Retired), Guest Speaker Hallock N. Mohler Jr., Captian, U.S. Navy (Retired), and all other participants. So sorry Ray Gresham's, 1st Sergeant, U.S. Army (Retired) song was cut short due to lightning!
Sponsored by various American Legion Posts, VFW Posts, DAV Chapters, BSA Troops and many more. Mark your calendar for next Memorial Day and join us to Remember the service and sacrifice of fallen veterans.

While having a cappella experience is helpful, it is not necessary. Any kind of past choral or singing experience may benefit you in learning how to blend your voice with others. The ability to read music is helpful but enthusiasm for singing is the most important attribute.
Our director encourages a variety of musical ensembles. We have quartet opportunities and small group numbers in addition to full group pieces.
In many cases learning tracks are provided to assist in learning a voice part. You may also record at rehearsal to help yourself at home. Rehearsals provide time to review voice parts as a section and to hone interpretations of the music.
Many singers are surprised by how routine it becomes to learn a song and build a repertoire through practice and our weekly repetition at rehearsals. Don’t let fear keep you from trying.
Members support the Williamsburg A Cappella Singers through annual dues which are determined based on the year’s projected budget. Dues are payable each January and prorated for those who join at other times of the year.
